Watkanonweratons - Welcome
She:kon, Sewakwekon. Wakatshenonni tsi
tesewe.
Welcome to The Mohawk Flute and Peace
Tree Cultural Consultants website. I have
been a musician since I was ten years old,
playing different instruments and then
began playing the cedar flute in 1991. This
site is about the flute and the music that I
make with it. This beautiful instrument has
a long history associated with it that varies
with each tribal nation that used the
flute. I have also worked as an Elder,
traditional teacher, educator, dancer,
singer and counselor. As such we also
offer you the services of Peace Tree
Cultural Consultants as an organization
that does educational cultural sessions,
workshops, and conferences with
individuals, couples, or groups
to help people to understand the need to
live in peaceful co-existence with each
other and how to achieve that goal. All of
our work is based on sound teachings of
who we are as Onkwehonwe people and
how we have been taught to relate to the
rest of humanity and the created order.
This site is also about the lifestyle we live
as Onkwehonwe (the Real People)
according to our beliefs and values we
have been given from our Creator,
our Elders and our culture. We strive to
share that cultural basis with all who will
listen and who welcome us to come and
share with them. We follow the
teachings that have been given to us
according to the Great Law of Peace, the
Kaianerenkó:wa. All things we do are out
of respect for our ancestors, who have
passed on, yet still watch over us, the
present generation of Onkwehonwe
people, and those children who have not
yet been born, the coming generations.
We wish you peace as you spend a little
time with us, either here, on the internet,
or in person by inviting Sakoieta' to come
and share Mohawk culture and teachings
with you. Take care and stay strong. Onen
ki wahi.
Please take the time to read or sign my
guestbook. You'll find it on the "Contact
Us" page. Thank you. Niawenh.

Sakoieta’ is a recognized Flute Instructor and member in good standing with the INAFA.
